Yes, it?s not your imagination; Easter is very early this year Why does the date for Easter change every year? Have you ever wondered why Easter Sunday can fall anywhere between March 22 and April 25? In Western Christianity, Easter is always celebrated on the Sunday immediately following the Paschal Full Moon date of the year. To make things even more complicated, the ?Paschal Full Moon? may or may not actually coincide with an actual full moon as we know it. There are in fact as many misunderstandings about the calculations as there are reasons for confusion about Easter dates.

Holding Covina Western Christian to less than 10 points a quarter led to a 55-34 nonleague victory for the Flintridge Prep boys' varsity basketball team in the Southern California Shootout at Azusa Pacific University last Saturday. The Rebels, who improved to 8-12 overall and remained 4-1 in league, will host Arcadia Rio Hondo Prep tomorrow (Friday) and Pasadena Poly next Friday in 7:30 p.m. league games. Prep led Western Christian 17-9 at the end of the first quarter, 27-17 at the half and 43-25 after three quarters.

Behind 3-0, the Flintridge Prep varsity baseball team rallied to beat visiting Covina Western Christian, 5-3, in nonleague action last Friday at the Glendale Sports Complex. The Rebels, who improved to 2-0, hosted Chadwick School at the GSC on Tuesday, but results were not available at press time. Prep will travel to Pasadena Poly today (Thursday) and Arcadia Rio Hondo Prep next Tuesday for 3:30 p.m. league games. The Fighting Lancers scored three runs in the first, second and third innings to lead 3-0 going into the bottom of the third inning where the Rebels responded with two runs.
