What would you do if you were a successful film editor who had worked on all the theatrical commercials for Walt Disney, Touchstone, and Hollywood studios for 16 years and written a number of how-to books on video editing, getting jobs in Hollywood, and even what questions to ask in the event of a car accident? I attended the LCF "Flint fest" on Saturday Night at Lanterman Auditorium. This was the first film festival held by the La Cañada Youth Council and the Roger Bark-ley Teen Advisory Board. After watching the films I must admit I was impressed. This area, and especially La Cañada, is populated with a number of gifted film makers. The talent in this community is very impressive. I applaud the city for recognizing the need for such a venue and am truly impressed with the amount of energetic, creative and innovative work that was shown Saturday night.

High Definition signals reach La Cañada Flintridge by one of three routes. There are antennas that broadcast our local stations' digital signals, some of which contain HD programs. There are HD channels that arrive here through Charter Communications' Cable system, and HD can be acquired through satellite providers (Dish and DirectTV). HD looks and sounds great because it has up to four times the picture information of regular TV. The audio is usually a six-channel, high quality configuration called Dolby 5.1. It contains five separate channels and a subwoofer channel.
