If you like classic rock with an acoustic sound to accompany your Saturday night socializing, the New Moon Restaurant in Montrose has a sound to stimulate your senses and send your appetite into overdrive. PCH — a group of Los Angeles area musicians that includes lead singer David Blassucci of La Cañada — is the entertainment every Saturday night from 7 to 10 p.m. at the restaurant, located at 2138 Verdugo Blvd. in Montrose. Blasucci enjoys singing with the band because, “It’s a great group of guys and I’m having the most fun I’ve ever had,” he said, adding, “The musicianship is outstanding and we all get along so well.

La Cañada Flintridge resident Dr. E. Val Clark was awarded an honorary doctor of science degree at the 2006 Commencement Exercises for Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah on May 6. Clark was honored for his longtime support of and affiliation with Southern Utah University. He was one of four to receive the honor this year. Just a few days after he was born in St. George, Utah, Val Clark moved to New Castle with his parents and two older sisters to be raised on the Bar V Ranch.

The second concert in the ninth season of the "Classics Become Eclectic" recital series will be held at 4 p.m. on Sun., Feb. 26 at the Altadena Community Church, located at 943 E. Altadena Drive (at the northeast corner of Lake Avenue and Altadena Drive.) On Sunday, February 26 pianist Kelly Anderson will perform works by Scarlatti, Chopin, Schumann, Rachmaninoff and Debussy. Anderson has performed with many orchestras, including the Utah Symphony under the direction of Joseph Silverstein.
