All 12 Olympic divers were on the stage at Rose Bowl Aquatics Center on Saturday and Sunday as the Diving Championships came to a close. The gold medal hopeful and former Rose Bowl Aquatics Center student Troy Dumais dominated the field and took first in the men?s three meter springboard with a tremendous 521.90 score. He said he wasn?t even 100%. ?This was a start,? Dumais said. ?But it?s not where I want to be. Yet.? Dumais said he was pleased with his performance and was completely mentally prepared before each dive.

Where oh where is the summer going? Here we are almost in August, which is usually known as the ?dog days of summer.? Just in time to ease us over that speed bump are the Olympic Games that begin Aug. 8. The theme for the games is ?One ?World One Dream.? Getting a head start in the Olympic excitement was the 12-member U.S. Olympic diving team that participated in the National Diving Championships this past weekend at the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center. It was also their final competition before heading to Beijing later this week.

The clock resting on the reception desk at Rose Bowl Aquatics is, perhaps, a little daunting, counting six days and an hour and 15 minutes left. The clock has been counting down the days, hours and minutes until the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center hosts the 2008 Kaiser Permanente National Diving Championships. Among the competitors will be all 12 members of the 2008 United States Olympic Diving Team, including 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist Laura Wilkinson, as well as a few noteable up-and-coming divers from around the country as they vie for the top spots in each category.
