La Cañada Flintridge Nov. 3-4 Petty theft: 4400 block of Rockland Place, before 12 p.m. on Nov. 4. A canvas bag, portable CD player, Walkman device, flashlight and tennis shoes were stolen out of the back seat of an unlocked vehicle. Nov. 6 Petty theft: 2100 block of Foothill Boulevard, 5:45 p.m. A GPS device was stolen while a man was shipping a box of merchandise at a store. Nov. 9 Petty theft: 5000 block of Crown Avenue, 9:30 a.m. A leather handbag, purse, checkbook, credit card, gift cards and movie tickets were stolen from a woman's unlocked vehicle.

La Cañada Flintridge May 19-20 Vehicle burglary: 4300 block of Beulah Drive, before 7:30 a.m. on March 20. Purse containing wallet, driver's license, credit cards and keys to a La Cañada bank were stolen from a locked vehicle. May 21-22 Burglary: 721 Foothill Blvd., before 8 a.m. on May 22. Employees at Doña Maria discovered that $200 in was cash missing from the restaurant when they opened. There was damage to the rear security door and pry marks were found on the cash register.

July 10 Harassment: 200 block of Foothill Boulevard, 6 p.m. A man followed a woman into Seoul Market and attempted to slide a mop with a camera attached to it under her legs. A bystander confronted the suspect, who locked himself in a storage room. Deputies recovered the camera, but no pictures or video had been taken and the woman declined to pursue the suspect's arrest. July 11 Mail theft: 800 block of St. Katherine Drive, 10 a.m. or earlier. Residents of two homes reported their mail stolen.

La Cañada Feb. 25 Petty theft from vehicle: 5700 block of Evening Canyon Drive. A man had left his vehicle unlocked around 5:15 p.m. and returned at 7 p.m. to find the front driver's side door ajar and the interior dome light on. He noticed items strewn throughout the vehicle, suggesting the compartments had been rifled through, and took an inventory of missing items. Gone were his navigation system, two messenger bags and a restaurant gift card. Police noticed no signs of damage or forced entry, surmising the suspect had simply opened the unlocked door.

La Cañada Flintridge Dec. 20-21 Attempted burglary: 1600 block of Earlmont Avenue, before 9 a.m. on Dec. 21. Small holes found in kitchen window on residential property. Dec. 24 Theft: 4000 block of Oak Grove Drive, between 10 and 10:15 a.m. A high school student parked his car at the school's parking lot, leaving the sunroof open. His wallet and iPhone were stolen from the vehicle. Unauthorized purchases were made with credit and debit cards that were in the wallet.

La Cañada Flintridge Feb. 5 Grand theft: 1000 block of Ridgecliff Lane. Between 5 p.m. on Jan. 17 and 4 p.m. on Feb. 1. Victim stated that her residence has been under construction for 10 months. Two 5-ton air conditioning units were stolen from the side yard of her residence. Feb. 6 Petty theft: 3800 block of Hampstead Road. Between 10 p.m on Feb. 5 and 6 a.m. on Feb. 6, someone stole U.S. currency of various denominations from an unlocked vehicle. Feb. 8 Burglary: 663 Foothill Blvd., the TJMaxx store.

La Cañada Flintridge Jan. 27 Grand theft: 4300 block of Commonwealth Avenue, between July 27, 2013 and 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 27. A plastic coin container with 5 oz. of yellow metal "gold dust" pebbles, an antique yellow metal wristwatch and gray metal wristwatch, and a 2 karat diamond were stolen from two separate lock boxes inside the victim's home. The victim told law enforcement officials she had an idea of who stole the items, but did not share the suspect's name.

A men's necklace, men's wristwatch, and U.S. currency in various amounts were stolen from a home while the owners were on vacation. The house was found ransacked. Nov. 9 Burglary: 1900 block of Verdugo Boulevard, between 1 and 3:15 p.m. A briefcase was stolen from a vehicle. The rear passenger window was also shattered. Petty theft: 5000 block of Alta Canyada Road, between 2:44 and 3:20 p.m. Multiple ladders and a plastic bin containing alarm parts were stolen from a truck parked in a driveway.

Burglaries dropped dramatically in La Cañada Flintridge in June, though more burglars have struck the city so far this year than during the same period in 2010 or 2011. Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station. Capt. David Silversparre said seven burglaries were reported in June compared to 19 in May. A Palmdale man allegedly involved in three La Cañada burglaries in May was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department. “We've had some success, and so we certainly have reduced [the number of burglaries]

La Cañada Flintridge Nov. 29 Burglary: 500 block of Foothill Boulevard, 6:25 p.m. Multiple flower arrangements, whiskey, vodka and beer were stolen from Ralphs. The incident was reported on Dec. 11. Dec. 10 Petty theft: 4400 block of Hobbs Drive, between 4:55 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. A handbag, wallet, California driver's license, multiple credit cards, ATM cards, and cash were stolen from an unlocked vehicle. Dec. 12-14 Petty theft: Viro Road and Foothill Boulevard, before 10 a.m. on Dec. 14. Mail from 13 residences was found under a bush on Viro Road.

La Cañada March 24 Proof of California registration fraud: Angeles Crest Highway at Lavender Lane. While driving at 5:35 p.m., an officer noticed a white Ford F-150. Although a check showed the vehicle's registration as expired, there was a blue 2014 sticker on the license plate, so the truck was pulled over. The driver presented a license and a registration slip showing an expiration date of Dec. 31, and told the deputy the truck belonged to his employer. The driver also admitted to taking the registration sticker off his own trailer and putting it on the truck “to avoid tickets.” He was cited for registration fraud and released.

La Cañada Flintridge Feb. 27 Vandalism: 4400 block of Oak Grove Drive. A member of school security contacted police so a student's mother could report an act of vandalism to report to her vehicle's insurance company. On Nov. 19, the woman reported, her son had driven her car to school. When he returned to the vehicle, he saw that it had been keyed in a manner that was "quite obvious. " The officer reviewed security video from that time period and saw nothing, but was informed the camera only records when motion is detected.

La Cañada Feb. 21 Petty theft/shoplifting: 900 block of Foothill Boulevard. At around 2 p.m., a loss prevention agent at Home Goods contacted police after detaining a shoplifter. A security camera captured a woman in her 60s entering the store with a cart, which had a dog and a shopping bag in it. The woman picked up a pillow and placed it under her dog, then took two costume masks and placed them under the shopping bag. After some time, the suspect went to the checkout stand to pay for another item and was detained as she exited the store by the agent, who made a citizen's arrest.
