The clock resting on the reception desk at Rose Bowl Aquatics is, perhaps, a little daunting, counting six days and an hour and 15 minutes left. The clock has been counting down the days, hours and minutes until the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center hosts the 2008 Kaiser Permanente National Diving Championships. Among the competitors will be all 12 members of the 2008 United States Olympic Diving Team, including 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist Laura Wilkinson, as well as a few noteable up-and-coming divers from around the country as they vie for the top spots in each category.

It wasn?t a good week for John Geyer. The La Cañada High senior went to the National Diving Championships with the intention of getting into the top 10 in any of the men?s events, including the 10 meter platform and the three meter and one meter springboards. Fate had other plans, as Geyer didn?t finish in the top 10 of any of the events and failed to make any of the finals. ?[My performance] was below average for me,? Geyer said, ?but with all the things going on in my life, with my training and my wrist, I wasn?
