City Manager Mark Alexander told the Valley Sun Monday that he hopes to continue his efforts to create in L.A. County the largest emergency communication system in the nation. The system, known as LA-RICS (Regional Interoperability Communication System), has as its goal connecting all cities to a common voice and data transmission system for use in emergencies. Alexander has been working as a board member on LA-RICS for three years, as a representative of California Contract Cities, and said he hopes to continue when new members are selected in April.
