Hundreds of realtors and affiliates attended the luncheon where the annual fashion show is considered the "big event." "This event is always a fun time with fellow realtors. Everyone seems to enjoy it and the food was great.

The La Cañada office of Dilbeck GMAC Real Estate again hosted "Easter In The Park" at La Cañada Memorial Park. This year's successful fund-raising event took place on Saturday, April 15, and raised over $1,500 for the Roger Barkley Community Center. Park visitors enjoyed a variety of activities including a bounce house & obstacle course, puppet show, face painting, crafts, balloon sculptures, petting zoo and of course Easter egg hunts. But in the currentslump Drummond is moving to a smaller firm, seeking flexibility as the market fluctuates and unusual deals - foreclosures and short sales - take center stage. ___________________________ FOR THE RECORD: This article incorrectly reported that Realtor Doug Drummond had worked at Podley Properties for 30 years. As home prices rise across Southern California, buyers face stiff competition in La Cañada Flintridge and surrounding areas. Phyllis Harb, with Prudential California Realty in La Cañada, said there is a shortage of homes on the market, which could be a problem for buyers looking for a deal. "Affordable homes are selling very quickly," she said. "Most are selling for well over asking price. " The number of foreclosures and short sales in the city have fallen "dramatically," she added.

It was hot and sunny on Saturday, March 22 in Memorial Park and the sounds of joyous laughter filled the air. Children were running everywhere and adults were trying to keep up. Suddenly the announcement came from emcee Jerry Healey: “It’s time for the Easter Bonnet Parade.” To the music of “The Easter Parade” sung by Judy Garland, the pint-sized contestants lined up, surrounded by proud parents and interested bystanders. Led by Bev Widney of Dilbeck Realty, the children marched dutifully behind her as some precariously clutched hats and Easter baskets.

Agents from Dilbeck Realtors gathered last week to learn the "ins-n-outs" of short sales, it was recently announced by the real estate firm. The event was hosted by Ambassador Capital Mortgage and featured guest panelist Bonnie Strassmann, manager of Dilbeck's Sherman Oaks office with over 30 years in real estate. Strassmann is an expert in the short sales phenomenon hitting the country. Joining Strassman was Mona Rose, Dilbeck's vice president and general counsel and Joe Carroll, first vice president of Metrocities Mortgage, LLC. Over 250 agents were in attendance and they listened to how short sales work and what the process is including negotiating, taking control, working with lenders and finalizing purchase agreements.
