Kidspace Children's Museum's volunteer organization, Circle of Friends, presented two checks totaling $450,000 to Kidspace during a luncheon held at Annandale Golf Club on May 8. The first check for $200,000 was dedicated to the annual operating budget, and a second check in the amount of $250,000 will be allotted to the capital campaign. President of the Museum's Board of Directors, Jane Popovich, and Executive Director of Kidspace Children's Museum, Stephen Baumann accepted the checks, which represent funds raised by Circle of Friends' annual Pumpkin Festival and Benefit held under the leadership of 2005-2006 President Cathy Lloyd.

  Pumpkin Alley displays pumpkins Pumpkin Alley will celebrate its 15th year this Halloween. La Cañada Flintridge resident Sharon Rae Deacon is again lining her driveway at 1728 Earlmont Ave. with 100 Jack-O-Lanterns. Sunland Produce has helped provide pumpkins for the last four years. The La Crescenta Key Club as well as many of Deacon’s friends will carve the pumpkins at her home. The Jack-O-Lanterns will be on display from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 31st.

CHILDREN’S EVENTS Pumpkin Festival — Oct. 25 & 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m . Kidspace Children’s Museum celebrates the fall season with their family-friendly carnival at Brookside Park in Pasadena. The Pumpkin Festival includes children’s costume parades, face decorating and a pumpkin patch. Kidspace is located at 480 N. Kidspace Children's Museum presents the 12th Annual Pumpkin Festival on the weekend of Oct. 21-22, co-sponsored by Nestlé and Disney Worldwide Outreach. This year's event, named "Haunted Hoedown," will feature rides, games, crafts, food, and entertainment for the entire family. Festivities include children's costume parades, live stage performances, opportunity drawings, and much more. Hours for the Pumpkin Festival are 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22. It will be held in the grassy horseshoe and park area surrounding Kidspace Children's Museum, which will be open during the event.

Kidspace Children's Museum in Pasadena is presenting the 11th Annual Pumpkin Festival, a fundraiser for Kidspace, co-sponsored by the city of Pasadena, IndyMac Bank, Nestlé, and the Disney Foundation. This year's event, named “Creepy Crawlers,” will feature very special guests, including actor Michael Muhney, who stars in the popular new UPN television show, Veronica Mars. The Pumpkin Festival will take place Saturday, Oct. 29, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 30, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the grassy horseshoe and park area surrounding Kidspace Children's Museum.

Disneyland has been celebrating its 50th anniversary since May 5, 2005, but now that celebration has come to an end and the new theme is the "Year of a Million Dreams." This has kicked off the Halloween season, both Disneyland park and Disney's California Adventure. The parks are in full swing to show off the ghouls and ghosts that have come around. For Disney's California Adventure park, the Golden Dreams theater has been transformed into Golden Screams: An award-type show where the audience votes on "the winning scream from a scary scene."
