As a young working musician in London, England in the 1970s, Laurence Juber got an extraordinary, life-changing break when Paul McCartney picked him to become Wings' lead guitarist. Juber spent three years recording and touring with the band. During that time he won a Best Rock Instrumental Grammy for the track "Rockestra" from the Wings album Back To The Egg. He has released 11 critically acclaimed solo albums. His latest release, "One Wing," is a collection of solo guitar arrangements drawn from the Paul McCartney and Wings repertoire.

If you like classic rock with an acoustic sound to accompany your Saturday night socializing, the New Moon Restaurant in Montrose has a sound to stimulate your senses and send your appetite into overdrive. PCH — a group of Los Angeles area musicians that includes lead singer David Blassucci of La Cañada — is the entertainment every Saturday night from 7 to 10 p.m. at the restaurant, located at 2138 Verdugo Blvd. in Montrose. Blasucci enjoys singing with the band because, “It’s a great group of guys and I’m having the most fun I’ve ever had,” he said, adding, “The musicianship is outstanding and we all get along so well.

More than 500 La Cañada community members dressed to the nines flocked to the Pasadena Convention Center Saturday for the La Cañada Flintridge Educational Foundation’s 20th Annual Gala, the Moonlight Masquerade. Each year, the Educational Foundation donates about $1.1 million to the La Cañada Unified School District to help maintain district programs and pay staff salaries. The Foundation stages several events throughout the year, like the Jog-A-Thon and gourmet wine and food tasting, to raise funds.

No one ever said love is easy. Calculus seems less complex. Nevertheless, the Summer Singers of La Cañada Presbyterian Church once again showed us that love need not be so complicated. Through careful thought and consideration, the right words and the perfect pitch and harmony, love can be as easy to express as boiling a pot of water. The annual LPCC Pops Concert got off to a winged start during its final performance Sunday, in the form of the source of all of love's beginnings - Cupid.
