?I?m really excited about this new opportunity,? Jack Scott told the Valley Sun about his appointment last week as chancellor of the California Community College System. Scott, who represents La Cañada and other San Gabriel cities in the state Senate but is being term limited out, will start the new job Jan. 1, and has no timetable about how long he will serve. ?The initial contract is for three years, but there?s no term limit,? he said. Scott, who will be 75 in August, said his health is good and his energy high as he embarks on the assignment of overseeing the state?
