Dilbeck Realtors & Associates Charitable Foundation recently held its fifth annual golf classic fundraiser at the world-renowned Oakmont Country Club in Glendale. The tournament raised over $25,000 for the firm's Charitable Foundation with 130 people attending the event. President Mark Dilbeck of Dilbeck Realtors GMAC Real Estate was pleased at the turnout saying that "everyone in attendance took a swing for the many charities we give to throughout the year." "It is directly due to the support of the day's golfers and sponsors that we will be able to offer more funding to more organizations this forthcoming year," Dilbeck said.

?We?re going into ?championship mode,?? said Greg Frederick, director of golf at Oakmont Country Club. ?That means heightening the grass cuts on the rough and the intermediate rough and begin double-cutting our fairways and rolling our greens.? This is just the start. Oakmont Country Club is preparing itself for the California Amateur Championship, which will be played at Oakmont and Lakeside (Toluca Lake) this week. It?s the first time the tournament has been played outside Northern California.

The Cabrini Literary Guild will hold its annual fundraiser on Saturday, March 3 at the Oakmont Country Club in Glendale. The theme is "That's Amore." In addition to lunch there will be a silent auction, raffle and a live auction. Entertainment will feature John Greenwood with a tribute to Dean Martin and his music, in keeping with the theme. The Cabrini Literary Guild is a philanthropic organization that contributes to many local charities including the Glendale Community Foundation.

Invitations went out late last week for the La Cañada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce and Community Association's 95th Annual Installation and Awards Dinner. The event is planned for the evening of Thursday, Jan. 25, and will be held at Oakmont Country Club, 3100 Country Club Drive, Glendale. Joe Thompson has been elected to return for another term as president of the LCF Chamber. He and the 2007 Board of Directors will be installed. Recognition awards will be presented to outstanding community leaders and Miss La Cañada Flintridge 2007 will be crowned.

1924-2005 Loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather Paul Emmanuel Kenagy was born on Oct. 23, 1924 in Albany, Oregon. He passed away unexpectedly at the age of 80 on Feb. 25. A resident of La Cañada-Flintridge for 50 years, he graduated from Hoover High School and attended the University of Southern California. He was an avid golfer and a member of Oakmont Country Club. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Helen, and his four daughters: Nancy Sanders of Surprise, Arizona, Paula Miller of La Cañada Flintridge, Connie Lee of Pebble Beach, and Helen Figone of Walnut Creek.

'Model citizens' will take to the catwalk Oct. 6 during the biggest fund-raising event hosted by La Cañada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce. The Men About Town evening fashion show will feature elegant men's fashions from P.M. Jacoy. Some of the many models to be seen strutting their stuff will be LCF Mayor Greg Brown, Albert Kahn, general manager Twin Palm Restaurant in Pasadena; Joe Thompson, president of LCF Chamber of Commerce; and Joel Peterson, a member of the local school board.

The La Cañada boys' varsity golf team remained undefeated in Rio Hondo League play with a 183-233 victory over visiting Temple City on April 18 at the La Cañada Flintridge Country Club. The Spartans upped their overall record to 12-2 and their league mark to 6-0. They were scheduled to play Crescenta Valley on Monday at the Oakmont Country Club, San Marino on Tuesday at the Santa Anita Golf Course and Monrovia yesterday (Wednesday) in league matches, but no results were available at press time.
