A friend of the Totta family, La Cañada resident Joe Wilson used to stop by the Totta & Sons garage on Foothill Boulevard and watch patriarch Pete Totta assemble classic cars. During one such visit in the late 1980s, a 1931 Ford Model A roadster pickup truck caught Wilson’s eye and he tried to buy it. It wasn’t until 2007, however, that Pete Totta would relinquish the keys. Within days of the transaction, Totta had died and his two sons closed the shop, the end of an era for the family-run business.
