Glendale Area Alumnae Panhellenic is having its 58th Annual Scholarship Benefit Luncheon at The Oakmont Country Club in Glendale on Saturday, April 1. Proceeds will provide scholarships for high school seniors attending a four-year college and for active collegiate members of NPC sororities from the Glendale, Burbank, La Crescenta, La Cañada and Verdugo Hills areas. The theme is "Spring Into Fashion," featuring fashions from J Jill of the Glendale Galleria. Models will be representatives from the member sorority alumnae organizations.

The Glendale Area Alumnae Panhellenic is a community-based organization encompassing the Glendale, Burbank, La Cañada, La Crescenta, Sunland and Tujunga areas, with member volunteers from one of the 26 sororities recognized by the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC). Their charter is to support today's young women in their pursuit of higher education. They raise money annually through a benefit luncheon each spring to provide scholarships for area high school girls going to a four-year college or university, as well as to eligible college undergraduates who are members in good standing of one of the 26 NPC sororities.

The annual scholarship luncheon of Glendale Area Alumnae Panhellenic will be held at 11 a.m. on March 12 at The La Cañada Thursday Club, 4440 Woodleigh Lane, La Cañada Flintridge. Each year, National Panhellenic Conference-affiliated collegians and alumnae donate more than $5 million to charitable causes, provide $2.8 million in scholarships to women, and volunteer 500,000 hours in their communities. The Glendale Area Alumnae Panhellenic was established in 1948 and its charter continues to be to provide college financial assistance women from Burbank, Glendale, La Cañada, La Crescenta and Montrose.

Delta Delta Delta, a National Panhellenic Conference sorority, has established a new alumnae chapter. The new San Gabriel-Crescenta Valley Alumnae Chapter received its charter on March 10 with 37 charter members. This new alumnae chapter is established as the result of three years of work of alumnae from the Glendale and La Cañada alumnae chapters to join their membership into one larger, united group. The alumnae chapter members meet each month from September through May at either a daytime or evening event.
