Two dens of Tiger Cub Scouts from Paradise Canyon Elementary School visited the offices of the La Cañada Valley Sun on Friday, Nov. 7. The group consisted of 16 boys and seven adults. “I learned that paper is made out of wood,” said Justin Hershman. “First we played soccer, before going to the Valley Sun,” said Adam Burstine. The cubs also had lunch and walked from Memorial Park to the Valley Sun offices. The visit lasted just a short time because the cubs were eager to get on with their weekend fun. “We had fun visiting the Valley Sun,” said Aaron Smernoff.

Dilbeck Realtors & Associates Charitable Foundation recently held its 5th annual golf classic at the Oakmont Country Club in Glendale. "To those of you who played, to our many volunteers and our generous sponsors, we thank you for remembering that charity begins at home and that is the focus of our foundation, " said Mark Dilbeck, president of Dilbeck Realtors GMAC Real Estate. The tournament raised approximately $18,000 with 130 golfers in attendance. The golf classic benefited the real estate firm's charitable foundation and "yes, everyone in attendance took a swing for the many charities we give to throughout the year," Dilbeck said.

Baseball Babe Ruth Dodgers 6, Angels 5 Jack Anderson got the win and Christian Zwicky got the save as the Dodgers held on to defeat the Angels, 6-5. The Dodgers took the early lead 6-0 but saw the Angels score five unanswered runs to narrow the gap to one. Zwicky retired the hard-hitting Angels 1-2-3 in the final inning to clinch the victory for the Dodgers. The Dodger offense was led by Jack Anderson?s two home runs. Joe Mudie, Steven Hoppe and Christian Zwicky each had two hits for the Blue, with one of Zwicky?
