I have learned over the years that if you pay attention you are apt to find the magic moment hidden in circumstance which slowly crystallizes like a vapor to a solid, opening your eyes to a revelation that makes you glad you showed up. Is there an alchemy prompting the release of endorphins that in turn create a sense of well being? I think so. Jay and the Americans? hit song in the ?60s, ?This Magic Moment? attests to such mysticism. Saturday night I attended the Glendale College Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

La Cañada resident and author Pauli Dutton will be reading from her work, When Daughters Fly: A Book For Mom, as part of a Tell It Like It Was performance, "This Magic Moment," which will take place at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 24 at the Coffee Gallery Backstage, 2029 N. Lake Ave. in Altadena. Also reading will be Pauli's husband Richard Dutton, Jean and Irwin Aichelee, Nancy Reas, Elizabeth Salvinski, Shona and Rob Stirbl, and Jacquie Townsend. Tell It Like It Was, an autobiographical writing and performing group, is open to new members.
