Following a time-honored tradition, on Saturday, Dec.30, members of the venerable La Cañada Thursday Club will proudly present nine young women as their newest Les Fleurettes Debutantes. The Bal Blanc de Noel, a black-tie event, will be held at the Omni Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. The Thursday Club, established in 1912, created the Les Fleurettes program in 1951 for daughters, granddaughters and nieces of club members. While the Bal Blanc de Noel is the culmination and celebration of an 18-month program of community and social service, cultural, personal development and etiquette lessons, it is the hope of the Thursday Club that they will take lessons learned in the program and continue to contribute to society by volunteering and serving their communities in years to come.
