Residents helped raise more than $6,500 at an ?Empty Bowls? soup dinner Nov. 14 at Crescenta Valley United Methodist Church.

The current contracts, which were set to expire on Dec. 31, were extended until June 30, 2010. County, or simply sit back and let others force an unfairly expensive and environmentally unnecessary sewer system down our protesting throats.

Christmas lights go up on fences and houses, street after street. The parties begin. There are parties of all sorts. Garden brunches, weather permitting, with Champagne, good coffee, fresh orange juice and croissants. Cocktail parties in homes with breathtaking views of the foothills. Tea at the Thursday Club on Woodleigh Lane. Chanukah latke feasts.
