"The Spirit of Christmas" is playing from now through Dec. 27 at the Kodak Theatre. It is a good Christmas show, but there is not much of a plot. "The Spirit of Christmas" is a collection of Christmas songs set to dance and sung by a great ensemble cast featuring more than 50 singers and dancers. It is one of the most famous Christmas shows in London and is now in L.A. for the first time. Though it captures the songs well, it is not captivating for the audience. It was sometimes point blank, "let's just sing."

Pillows, backpacks, sweat shirts, board games — all adorned with the Disney Channel Original Movie’s signature red logo — can be found at every turn of the aisle. But for those tweens who just can’t get enough of the basketball-playing Troy, science nerd Gabriella or stage diva Sharpay, now there’s something else to ask of Santa, as a pre-Christmas gift: tickets to Disney’s High School Musical On Tour!

There have been many stories written about 21-year-old La Cañada resident Emily Wynne-Hughes since the Jan. 13 airing of her Phoenix American Idol audition. She auditioned in Phoenix, Ariz. and made it to Hollywood, making an impression on all four Idol judges. But the press that has followed since has not always been on the positive side. “I have had a harsh awakening,” Wynne-Hughes said about the last few weeks. “My life is under the microscope.” She made the decision to audition for American Idol after she and her mother had a heart- to-heart discussion about her future in the recording industry.
