The Spartans had to beat Campbell Hall on Tuesday to advance to the CIF-Southern Section Division III-AA Finals. Unfortunately that task proved too daunting and the Vikings sent the Spartans on an early holiday in the semifinal game at Harvard-Westlake, as UCLA-bound Jrue Holiday paced host Campbell Hall to an 81-47 victory. The loss comes off the heels of the fifth-seeded Spartans? victory over the third-seeded Santa Clara, 65-59, on Friday that launched La Cañada to the semi-finals.

ANAHEIM — Upon entering the Honda Center Saturday to play the La Cañada Spartans for the CIF-Southern Section Division III-AA championship, the Campbell Hall Vikings were ranked No. 19 in the nation by USA Today and No. 2 in the state by Cal-Hi Sports. It took a fast-paced fourth quarter and overtime session before the talented Vikings could finally escape with a 61-57 victory.

LA CAÑADA - In 2006 and 2007, La Cañada High athletics created an awful lot of history in the pool and gym that are still talked about and used as comparisons for today's Spartans teams. A quartet of former Spartans largely responsible for creating those memories were inducted in the school's athletic hall of fame Sunday during the La Cañada Thursday Club's first annual “Honor the Spartan” program put on by the school's athletic leadership council. A trio of 2007 graduates from La Cañada - Devon Borisoff, Spencer Tompkins and Adam Malik - and 2006 alumni Jordan Thompson were all added to the list of the school's greatest athletes.
