Preserving memories is at the forefront of James Myers? mind. The 24-year-old La Cañada entrepreneur and his business partner Nicholas Dazé, also 24, started Life Preserver Digital Archiving in Los Angeles two years ago in order to help preserve photographs, old movies and videos. The company recently partnered with the Alzheimer?s Association and will participate in Sunday?s Memory Walk in Los Angeles to help raise money for Alzheimer?s research. In addition to walking the walk, Myers said he plans to set up a booth at the event to offer discounts and free scanning of up to 20 photos for participants.

Nearly 400 members of the Class of ’08 at La Cañada High School will collect their diplomas on June 18, when commencement exercises are held in Spartan Stadium on the same Oak Grove Drive campus most of them have attended since they were in the seventh grade. The ceremonies are set to take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, and will be viewed by the graduates’ family members, school staff and administration, including Principal Damon Dragos, as well as La Cañada Unified School District officials, headed by Superintendent of Schools Jim Stratton, and members of the LCUSD Governing Board, which is led by President Susan Boyd.
