Area 1 3800 block of Park Place: A set of headphones, an iPhone car charger, a pair of Chanel sunglasses and a baby scale were stolen from an unlocked Jeep Grand Cherokee between 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30 and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1. The car had been parked in a carport. 4400 block of La Crescenta Avenue: A rock was thrown through the library window of the First Baptist Church at La Crescenta during church services on Sunday, Oct. 2. The window, valued at $800, was completely shattered.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's detectives are looking for at least two men involved in an armed robbery last week on Foothill Boulevard. A 19-year-old man was listening to an iPod while walking in the 1700 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge at 1 a.m. on June 24, Sgt. Ray Harley said. The victim sensed someone approaching him from behind, turned and saw two masked suspects, one holding a handgun and they demanded his iPod and money, Harley said. "The victim complied and gave the two suspects his iPod and his wallet, which contained a little bit of cash," Harley said.

Hampstead Road , the left rear window was broken and a bag containing emergency road side equipment was stolen from a vehicle in the 4000 block overnight, Saturday and Sunday. Leycross Drive , the driver’s side window was broken, the leather arm rest and seat were damaged with small cuts and an iPod was stolen from a vehicle in the 1600 block overnight, Saturday and Sunday. Beulah Drive , the grass parkway in front of a residence was vandalized by a vehicle who apparently drove through the yard in the 4200 block overnight, Friday and Saturday.

It started as the most glorious autumn day today. The sky was so bright I had to flip down the sunshade and I still squinted. Then the clouds started in the far west. Blindingly white and brilliant against the dark blue sky, some colored leaves flying around and I thought this, THIS, is why October is my favorite month. Then it got cold and dark gray. Rats, but good for making soup. So I stopped by Trader Joe's on the way home ? Ahhh, but I am getting ahead of myself. This column is about why all children should be sent away to boarding schools from the age of 11 on. We have a big outside party, one of them forgets to shovel.

Area 1 3900 block of Park Place: A woman parked and locked her convertible in her apartment's underground parking complex the night of Dec. 16. In the morning she found that the car's convertible top had been cut horizontally from one end to the other. The woman reported a GPS unit had been stolen out of the car's glove compartment. Damages totaled $3,300. 3000 block of Markridge Road: A man received a phone call from his home alarm company at 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 17. The company told the man his home alarm had been triggered.
