Human bones that were discovered in Angeles National Forest late last month are still under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff homicide division. Bow hunters discovered a skull on Dec. 29 near mile marker 2.23 on Mt. Wilson Road, according to Lt. Gil Carrillo. ?The following day we found more human remains,? Carrillo said. ?It is being [handled] by homicide because there appears to be a bullet hole in the skull.? The bones are now with anthropologists who will help determine sex and approximate age. ?

The investigation into an apparent suicide that was reported about 3:30 p.m.on Sunday is ongoing, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s homicide spokesman. The victim has been identified as Martin Wehmann, 40 of Los Angeles. He was found under the bridge near Big Tujunga Canyon Road by U.S. Forestry Department officers on Sunday. The initial call was of an injured man, said Mike Leum, member of Montrose Search and Rescue Team. They were informed it was a fatality while en route.

Detectives are investigating a badly burned body of an unidentified adult male that was found Monday morning in a unisex restroom in the Colby Canyon Campground in the Angeles National Forest. "It's the first murder I've picked up out of there and we believe it's an isolated incident. We do not believe there is a serial killer or any predators out there," said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide Bureau Lt. Dan Rosenberg. The campground was closed Monday due to investigations but was re-opened to the public Tuesday.

Deputies went to San Francisquito Canyon Road, about five miles south of Spunky Canyon Road, about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday after the body was found, the L.A. Times reported. Homicide detectives are handling the case, and sheriff's deputies had no immediate update Thursday morning. The area is about 17 miles north of Castaic.

The body of a woman was found Thursday afternoon by a hiker in the Angeles National Forest. The discovery was made on East Fork Road near Prairie Fork Road, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said. Homicide detectives were investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. Los Angeles County Sheriff homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the discovery Sunday of a body of a woman in a turnoff on Angeles Crest Highway above the city. According to Det. Q Rodriguez, the body of a 31-year-old woman from El Salvador was discovered at mm 30.65 on Angeles Crest Highway at about 9 a.m. on Sunday. She was clothed and there was no sign of traumatic injury. ?She is an illegal immigrant. She may have sustained an injury in her own country and was possibly trying to obtain treatment here [in the United States]
