Bramblewood Road in La Cañada, a bedroom was ransacked and several pieces of jewelry were stolen, along with cash from a residence in the 5600 block between the hours of 9:05 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. on Tuesday. Encinas Drive in La Cañada, two walls at La Cañada Elementary School were vandalized with spray-painted graffiti sometime between June 26-30. Lyans Drive in La Cañada, a woman reported that she heard a loud crash outside her home. She investigated and saw three men running from her vehicle that was parked in the home’s driveway.

Passenger window of a locked Honda Civic pried open, $550 worth of jewelry stolen. 4400 block of Chevy Chase Drive: Auto burglary, 10:30 a.m. or earlier. An iPod and a wallet were stolen from a locked Honda CR-V parked in the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge. 1100 block of Atlee Drive: Auto burglary, 8 a.m. or earlier. A canvas gym bag containing Adidas shoes was stolen from the cargo area of an unlocked Subaru Outback.

Musica Angelica, regarded as Southern California's premier Baroque ensemble, concludes its 2005-06 season with Handel's Acis and Galatea conducted by Music Director Martin Haselböck and featuring critically acclaimed soprano Elizabeth Futral on Friday, May 5, at 8 p.m., at Zipper Concert Hall and Sunday, May 7, at 4 p.m., at Schoenberg Hall, UCLA. Joining Futral (as Galatea) are tenor Tony Boutté (Acis), tenor Marc Molomot (Damon) and Austrian bass Wolfgang Bankl (Polythemus). A pre-concert lecture begins 40 minutes before the start of each concert.

Tenor Daniel Chaney has a very busy season planned. In addition to singing in the St. George?s Episcopal Church Choir he will be a solo tenor on Oct. 28 at the 74th Annual Los Angeles Bach Festival at the First Congregational Church. He will also be solo tenor at two concerts, one on Nov. 18 and the other on Dec. 10, at the Disney Music Center. The Bach Festival began in 1933 and has grown to be a popular Los Angeles musical event. Chaney has performed at the festival in the past and said he is honored to been asked again to join in the festival.

The Los Angeles Master Chorale will perform the holiday tradition Monday, Dec. 19. Organist William Beck will provide accompaniment.A quarter of a century ago, the Los Angeles Master Chorale helped pioneer what has become one of the city's most beloved holiday traditions: the "Messiah Sing-Along." The Chorale will do George Frideric Handel proud when it celebrates the silver anniversary of its famed "Messiah Sing-Along" in grand style at the Walt Disney Concert Hall on Monday, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Backed by the driving organ accompaniment of guest organist William Beck, Music Director Grant Gershon conducts a quartet of outstanding soloists from the Chorale with the audience singing the chorus parts, including the universally loved "Hallelujah Chorus."

The event, "Women at the Top," will be held on June 12 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Omni Hotel, at 251 S. Olive St. in Los Angeles. The women who will be honored and speaking that evening are Darla Longo , vice chairperson of CB Richard Ellis; Pamela Touschner , partner of WWCOT; and Sandra Yavitz , president of Yavitz Companies, Inc. Moderating this special occasion is Martha Welborne , managing director of the Grand Avenue Committee and a 2006 "Women at the Top" honoree.

Ten Years Ago City officials helped break ground for a Rubio’s/Wolf’s Camera Shop project on Foothill Boulevard at Commonwealth Avenue. The site, at the intersection’s northwest corner, was previously home to a Mobil Oil service station.   Twenty Years Ago Actor/director Kevin Costner, then a resident of La Cañada Flintridge, saw his film “Dances with Wolves” presented with seven Oscars at the 1991 Academy Awards ceremony held at the Shrine Auditorium.

La Cañada Flintridge   Dec. 16   Reasonable cause burglary: Olive Lane and Grand Avenue, about 10 a.m. A 20-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested for possessing burglary tools after allegedly getting dropped off in the neighborhood and knocking on doors.   Dec. 13   Petty theft: 600 block of Georgian Road, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. A package containing three gift cards was stolen from a package that was delivered and left on the porch of a home.
