The Los Angeles Jewish Symphony concert, will take place Sunday, July 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ford Amphitheatre. The concert is a program of works by Israeli composers featuring celebrated Israeli percussionist Chen Zimbalista, making his West Coast orchestral debut, and Israeli French horn soloist Alon Reuven. Conducted by the symphony's founder/artistic director Noreen Green, the concert, titled "Ahavah: From Israel with Love," highlights the vast contributions of Israeli artists to the symphonic musical repertoire and includes works never performed in the United States.

Celebrating the 15th anniversary of Kultura Philippine Folk Arts, past and present members will be joined on stage by alumni of Bayanihan Dance Company who are now residents of Southern California in "Kultura's Tribute to Philippine Culture" at the legendary Ford Amphitheatre, Aug. 4 at 8 p.m. Rituals are pervasive in the Philippine culture. The allegories expressed in ethnic dances depict expressive forms of various tribes, their life cycles, the community, and religions which inspired the lifetime work and legacy of Philippine National Dance Artists Ramon Obusan, Lucrecia Urtula, and Leonor Orosa Goquinco whom Kultura is honoring in this summer concert.

The Baseball Reliquary will present "Legacies: Baseball from Flatbush to the City of Angels" at the Ford Amphitheatre in Hollywood on Sunday, Aug. 15 at 8 p.m. The one-night program will feature an artists' look at baseball in general and specifically the historic move of the Dodgers from Brooklyn to Los Angeles. Comedienne Elayne Booster will serve as master of ceremonies for the evening. The program will include comedy performances by Culture Clash, Dan Kwong and Heather Woodbury.

"Unearthing Sleeping Beasts," the evening that opens the Target Dance Series at the Ford Friday, July 6, culminates the united efforts of three L.A.-based female choreographers: Kate Hutter and two of Dance Magazine's "Top 25 to Watch," Maria Gillespie and Holly Johnston. The three collaborated in the process of dance making — sharing dancers, rehearsal and performing space, creative teams of composers and designers — to produce three world premieres for the Ford stage. "The new works all explore the facets of human nature," says Maria Gillespie.

Musica Angelica, Los Angeles' premier Baroque orchestra, presents Vivaldi's Four Seasons, possibly the most popular Baroque work ever written, at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug., 6 under the stars at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre. Featured soloist is Musica Angelica's Concertmaster/Resident Artistic Director Elizabeth Blumenstock, who leads the ensemble in Vivaldi's masterpiece and Corelli's Concerto Grosso, Op. 6., No. 1, 2 and 4, filled with beautiful melodies and harmonies. Aside from being a leading Baroque composer, Corelli was considered one of Vivaldi's greatest influences.

Brazilian Nites Productions in conjunction with the Brazilian Women's Group, a non-profit organization, presents its fourteenth annual event at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre, on Sunday, June 17 at 7 p.m. The 2007 edition features the rhythms of Rio de Janeiro and Bahia ; headliners are the most authentic and traditional Brazilian samba group , Fundo De Quintal , directly from Brazil. Opening the festival is Lula and Afro Brazil bringing different percussive beats, rich, and varied rhythms of Bahia and astonishing dancers adding colorful and vibrant choreographies to the mix. The audience is welcome to join in and dance on stage.
