Not familiar with the canola plant? Most people aren?t. Canola oil gets its name from the words ?Canada? and ?oil.? The oil itself comes from a genetically engineered plant developed in Canada from the rapeseed plant. You can go online and find plenty of official Canola sites boasting of its low-fat health benefits.

Q. I am worried about getting forgetful. What can I do to keep my mind sharp? ? Dan in La Cañada ? Your concern is shared by many. It seems that every time we look at a magazine or turn on the news there is talk about someone famous being diagnosed with Alzheimer?s. We worry that because we can?t remember an acquaintance?s name or where we put our keys that we might be getting it too. Research is constantly being done on what causes Alzheimer?s but there are steps we can take to keep our brain healthy.
