The program includes Linda Jonge, head of public information for the Glendale Unified School District, presenting a 125-year history of the GUSD.

Retired teachers December luncheon On Monday, Dec. 1, the Glendale-Foothill Division of the California Retired Teachers’ Association will hold their monthly luncheon meeting at the Elks Lodge, 120 E. Attention auto enthusiasts: If you have ever thought about putting the final touches on your old car and entering it in a local auto show, now is the time. The Glendale Elks Annual Charity Car Show will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, according to event chair Jack Wright. The annual event, now in its twelfth consecutive year, draws car buffs from throughout Southern California. The public is encouraged to attend, and there is no admission charge. Prizes will be awarded to autos in seven classes: 1930 and earlier; 1931-1942; 1946-1954; 1955-1963; 1964-1975; Special Interest 1976 and up and a "People's Choice" Award.
