Moviegoers will get a chance to go "under the sea" and revisit Disney's Oscar-winning animated feature, "The Little Mermaid," when the classic film makes its digital debut during a special limited engagement from Sept. 7- 24 at Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre The engagement, which celebrates the upcoming Oct. 3 release of the special 2-disc Platinum Edition DVD, will spotlight an all-new digital restoration of the film with enhanced picture and sound. This weekend there are many options open to anyone looking for a good way to spend some time. Last week saw the opening of "Man of the Year" and this Friday "The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3-D" opens to a limited release. First, "Man of the Year," starring Robin Williams as Tom Dobbs, a political comedian who has a news show much like "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart." During the taping of a show an audience member suggests that Dobbs run for president. After numerous e-mails supporting his presidential run, Dobbs takes the suggestion to heart and announces his candidacy.

Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre is offering students a chance to win some valuable prizes for themselves and their teachers by entering an essay contest themed to the new Disney/Walden Media fantasy feature, "Bridge to Terabithia." Based on the popular Newbery Award-winning novel, "Bridge to Terabithia" is a fantasy, adventure story of friendship, family and the power of imagination from the producers of The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe. The engagement is scheduled to run from Feb. 16th through March 29th.

Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre is putting on the dog for its special engagement of Walt Disney Pictures' howlarious new comedy, "The Shaggy Dog," between March 10 and April 13, with a special live appearance before each show by the film's canine star, it was announced by Lylle Breier, senior vice president of worldwide special events for Buena Vista Pictures Distribution. Hollywood's legendary El Capitan Theatre gets its 80th anniversary off to a flying start with a special two-week engagement of Disney's Oscar-winning animated classic, "Dumbo," from May 25 through June 7. "Dumbo" is celebrating its 65th birthday this year, and a new deluxe "Big Top Edition" DVD release of the film is scheduled for June 6. The El Capitan Theatre is at 6838 Hollywood Blvd. For this engagement, a pristine new transfer of the film was made, and it will be digitally projected for an enhanced theatrical experience.

Hollywood's legendary El Capitan Theatre will present the wildest show in town from April 14 through May 11 as part of its special "Spring Break" engagement of Walt Disney Pictures' new computer-animated feature, "The Wild." In addition to the film, live on stage before each show, moviegoers will have a chance to meet a colorful cast of exotic birds from around the world accompanied by their keepers from the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens. "The Wild" follows an odd assortment of animals from the New York Zoo who discover what a jungle the city can be when one of their own is mistakenly shipped to the wild and they embark on a dangerous mission to rescue him. An impressive vocal ensemble featuring Kiefer Sutherland, Jim Belushi, Janeane Garofalo, Greg Cipes, William Shatner and Eddie Izzard, and Richard Kind lend their talents to the film's animal characters.
