The play ?Wicked? has a tag line that reads ?a lot happened before Dorothy dropped in.? And it?s true ? if you have only seen The Wizard of Oz, you only have half the story, and it is seen through rose-tinted glasses. The real story is much darker. The hit musical, which is performing now at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, is a tale of racism, lies, scandal and magic but in the center of it all is the core story about two friends Glinda (Megan Hilty) and Elphaba (Eden Espinosa) who come from different backgrounds.

The winner of 15 major awards including the Grammy Award and three Tony Awards, "Wicked" is the untold story of the witches of Oz. Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. The story follows their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch. The new production of "Wicked" is being mounted specifically for Southern California and will star Eden Espinosa as Elphaba and Megan Hilty as Glinda.
