Bev Widney of Dilbeck has helped organize the party since its inception 17 years ago. Easter in the Park has grown from a simple egg hunt into a wonderful community-wide event, she said.

I was up in Palo Alto for a wonderfully fun family Easter gathering at daughter Heather’s house this past weekend. It took some well-timed maneuvers for the Easter Bunny to hide eggs between rain showers. However, the rain spatters didn’t seem to deter our exuberant little kids from ferreting out the hiding places of the brightly colored eggs. The littlest cousin of the family is 18-month-old Finn Fagan, who got plenty of adult help filling up his first Easter basket. It wasn’t until 10 p.m. Sunday that we heard that the Southland had gone through some rocking and rolling at 3:40 in the afternoon.
