The Palpitating Panthers jump rope team showed their stuff at the La Cañada High School gym last Friday. They were there for practice and for a television spot on Fox 11 Good Day morning news program. The girls jumped and performed in front of the early morning cameras. Reporter Nischelle Turner even joined on of the jump rope sets of girls. The interest in the sport does not surprise the founder and mentor of the team, eighth grade teacher Janis Fuhrman. She began the team 16 years ago but has since transferred the coaching duties onto former Panther's Jeanna Fong and Laurie Moses.
