The Cambria Pines Lodge in Cambria was the venue when Kate Bachamp wed Bryan James O’Grady in a late morning, double-ring ceremony on Aug. 22, followed by a reception in the lodge’s gardens. The bride is the daughter of Edward and Patricia Bachamp of Thousand Oaks and the groom is the son of James and Janelle O’Grady of La Cañada Flintridge. Kate appeared in a 1930s-style ivory chiffon, full-length gown that featured a brush train. On the gown’s ivory background a floral relief outlined the bride’s silhouette and matched the flowers worn in her hair.

Instead of grabbing a bundle of flowers for Mom at the supermarket, Descanso Gardens has more than 3,000 rose species to show her on Mother?s Day. Descanso?s Justin Huff will lead guests through the gardens? rosarium from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. There are five acres of lush, bright roses there. There are 20 themed gardens in the Descanso rosarium, which opened in 1994. These include old European roses, roses from China and hybrid, modern roses. All of the roses are labeled according to different species originating from Scotland, Denmark, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Australia, Ireland and the U.S., said Brenda Rees, manager of communications at the gardens.

Descanso is home to thousands of vibrant tulips and daffodils late-blooming camellias, perfumed lilacs, iridescent Iceland poppies, stately irises, romantic roses, cherry blossoms, azaleas, clivia, clematis, redbuds and dazzling display beds and planters.

The fourth annual La Cañada Spring Garden Tour, hosted by La Cañada Valley Beautiful, will be held Sunday, April 30, from 1 to 4 p.m. Spend an afternoon strolling through four lovely gardens for just $10. Tickets will be available at participating gardens on the day of the garden tour or from LCVB board members. Refreshments will be served. Guests may start their tour at any of the gardens and enjoy the gardens in any order. 902 Flintridge Avenue : The house on this property was built in 1972.
