A La Crescenta woman escaped serious injury Saturday morning when a cement mixer toppled onto the car she was driving. The accident occurred at about 7:30 a.m. According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of the cement mixer, a 39-year-old Whittier man, was traveling westbound at an excessive rate of speed on Foothill Boulevard when he attempted to make a right turn onto Briggs Avenue. Due to his speed, the momentum forced the mixer to tip over, landing on top of the 2006 Mercedes.

Flintridge Avenue in La Cañada, the left rear taillight and the left side tailgate of a vehicle were vandalized in the 900 block on Saturday. Robin Hill Road in La Cañada, a porch light was broken from the wall it was affixed to; 400 block between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. Nov. 27. Inverness Drive in La Cañada, the driver’s side window of a vehicle was shattered and a purse was stolen in the 800 block overnight, Nov. 26-27. Sport Chalet Drive in La Cañada, an iPod, cellphone charger, global positioning system charger and two pairs of sunglasses were stolen from a vehicle parked in the parking lot of Sport Chalet between 4 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 27. Oak Grove Drive in La Cañada, the front passenger side window of a vehicle was smashed and a bag with personal items was stolen from a vehicle parked in the La Cañada High School parking lot in the 4400 block between 5:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. on Nov. 26. Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, the rear wall of the La Cañada Properties building was vandalized by spray-painted graffiti in the 900 block between Nov. 22-25.
