Nov. 20 Attempted Vehicle Burglary: 2100 block of Tondolea Lane, before 7 a.m. Suspect or suspects attempted to pry open a window to a Honda Civic. Nov. 21 Grand Theft Auto: 521 Foothill Blvd., 1:45 p.m. A Yukon Denali was stolen out of the Ralph's parking lot. The LoJack on the vehicle enabled officers to locate it. Nov. 24 Burglary: 5600 block of Bramblewood Road, between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Golf clubs worth an estimated $18,900 taken from a garage.

Search-and-rescue teams were looking for possible survivors Wednesday after a car apparently plunged 400 feet off California 39 into the Morris Reservoir in the Angeles National Forest. L.A. County fire officials said they did not know when the car plunged off the road, whether anyone had been in it or whether anyone could have survived such a fall, according to the L.A. Times. They also did not have a description of the car. They said they got a call about the car about 7:20 a.m. Wednesday.

An accident Sunday night that left a car overturned on the eastbound exit of the 210 Freeway at Angeles Crest Highway in La Cañada Flintridge is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol. CHP Officer Saul Gomez said Monday afternoon that the cause of the crash was an unsafe turn on the part of the driver, a 19-year-old man from La Crescenta. A 1999 Chevy Cavalier hit a guard rail and flipped at around 8:05 p.m. Investigators were determining whether excess speed played a role in the crash.

La Crescenta/ Montrose Sept. 21 Burglary: 2564 Foothill Boulevard, 1:13 p.m. A man was arrested for placing a credit card “skimming” device and a small camera on the ATM at the U.S. Bank after a customer told employees he was loitering suspiciously.

Have you seen the flurry of news reports about our governor signing into law Tuesday a bill that will allow testing of autonomous cars? The control freak in me, the one who also happens to love to be behind the wheel of a car, finds it slightly disturbing that we're moving into an age when our vehicles will handle all the details we drivers are so accustomed of dealing with - steering and braking among them. But the futurist that lurks inside sees all kinds of wonderful possibilities with the technology, including video cameras, sensors and artificial-intelligence software that will be used on these chariots.

A bicyclist in La Cañada Flintridge suffered major injuries on Tuesday after being struck by a car on Angeles Crest Highway, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lt. Angela Shepherd said. The victim, a 30-year-old man visiting from Oregon, was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena. His condition was not immediately known. The bicyclist was struck by a Scion sport utility vehicle at 5:44 p.m. along the 5300 block of the highway, a short distance northeast of Glenola Park.

Two months after the city added parking restrictions near La Cañada Elementary School, on Monday Joseph Mitchell convinced the City Council to revisit the issue. Mitchell, a Fairview Drive resident, is seeking stronger restrictions and told the council that the intersection of Fairview and Angeles Crest Highway is too dangerous to ignore. “I must say that you and the Planning Commission all have made mistakes already regarding this matter,” Mitchell said. “This is a matter of public safety, of many cars coming in at all hours … there should be no parking day or night in that area.” Mitchell first approached the city with his concerns in April.

A car and driver have plunged over the side of Little Tujunga Canyon Road in the Angeles National Forest, prompting rescue crews to try to extract the driver. Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies took a call about 10 a.m. Wednesday reporting a car off Little Tujunga at Dillon Divide, north of Lakeview Terrace in the northeast San Fernando Valley. Los Angeles County Fire crews Montrose Search and Rescue have crews at the scene, according to Lt. Angela Shepherd of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies and search and rescue teams are looking for an occupant after a vehicle was found on the side of the Angeles Crest Highway. The sheriff's department received a call at around 5:30 p.m. on Friday to report the vehicle, said Sgt. Robert Galbraith of the  Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Department.  The car was found empty and authorities are currently looking for the driver. A bear hit by a car in La Cañada Flintridge early Sunday and showed up later near a Starbucks coffee shop has been euthanized, according to officials. California Department of Fish and Game spokesman Andrew Hughan said the bear was euthanized at around 4 p.m. "Upon examination, it was determined that the bear's injuries from the vehicle collision were catastrophic, and the bear was euthanized," Hughan said. The car accident happened at about 7 a.m. near the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Vineta Avenue, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The driver was not hurt and the bear climbed a fence and headed into the bushes before authorities arrived, Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Sgt. Cynthia Gonzales said.
