Travis Cena at first thought that law enforcement was his calling but shortly after joining the Glendale Police Department something just didn?t gel. ?I love the police department,? Cena said. ?They do such a wonderful job in the community.? But Cena felt that God was calling him for something different. A graduate of Crescenta Valley High School, Cena joined the military and then made the natural progression law enforcement. ?I served in Iraq for five months,? he said.

Susan Young opened a massage therapy business in La Cañada earlier this month with a ribbon-cutting event attended by La Cañada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce officials, including the chamber’s board chairman, Joel Peterson. The Susan Young Massage Therapy studio, incorporated into the massage studios of Hailey Paton Pilates & Physical Therapy at 542 Foothill Blvd., features ashiatsu Oriental bar therapy, an ancient form of massage first practiced by Buddhist monks that involved use of the massage therapist’s feet.
