La Cañada Presbyterian Church will present its Christmas Concert on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 2:30 and 4 p.m. in the Sanctuary This concert reveals the mystery and wonder of Christmas when God spoke through his Son and the whole world listened. This will be an exciting collection of traditional carols and new music that will appeal to all ages as performed by the Cherub Choir, Celebrate Singers, Newsong, LCPC Choir, Praise Band and Brass. The La Cañada Presbyterian Church, which is located at 626 Foothill Blvd.

If you love music, the Crescenta Valley Arts Council has an evening of brass instrumental musical enjoyment planned to alternately stimulate, soothe and satisfy your sound-starved eardrums. At 7 p.m. on Feb. 7, the Arts Council will present Brass Bash, an informal introduction to the world of instrumental music, at the La Crescenta Presbyterian Church, 2902 Montrose Ave. Admission is $5. Featured at the event will be Rob Roy McGregor, a retired Los Angeles Philharmonic trumpeter, who lives in La Crescenta.

The Assistance League of Flintridge Fine Arts Academy Music program will present its final all-school spring concerts on May 16 and May 23 at Lanterman Auditorium. These concerts will be the culmination of the 2005-2006 year of music instruction. This year 251 La Cañada school students were enrolled in the program which included beginning strings, orchestra, beginning brass/percussion, beginning woodwinds and concert band classes. The May 16 concert will feature the beginning strings and orchestra conducted by lead teacher, Patricia Aiken.

Assistance League of Flintridge Fine Arts Academy Instrumental Music Program will present two concerts celebrating the accomplishments of fourth through sixth grade students enrolled in La Cañada Unified School District schools. The first concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. May 13, at Lanterman Auditorium and features Concert Band, woodwind, brass and percussion students. The second concert is slated for 7 p.m. on May 14, also at Lanterman Auditorium. This concert features the String Orchestra as well as Beginning String students.

The Assistance League of Flintridge Fine Arts Academy Instrumental Music Program will present two winter concerts on Dec. 5 and Dec. 6 at Lanterman Auditorium. The Dec. 5 concert features Beginning Woodwinds conducted by instructor Lisa Fleming and assisted by Amira Polock. In addition, instructor John Tegmeyer, assisted by Michael Armstrong, will conduct the Concert Band and Beginning Brass/Percussion concert. The Dec. 6 concert will feature Beginning Strings and Orchestra conducted by Patricia Aiken, lead teacher.
