Two weeks ago I graduate with my master?s of science in marriage and family therapy. It has been a long road, this life of mine. I went from the entertainment industry to Bible College without ever even giving a thought to ministry. But God had other plans for me. One afternoon, while listening to a radio sermon about sheep knowing their master?s voice, God called me to Bible College. After 10 years in the ministry as a pastor, God called me back to seminary to get my master?s degree.

Ten Years Ago The City Council approved a $770,000 purchase agreement for a five-acre parcel north of Palm Crest Elementary School, to be kept as open space. The property, in the 5200 block of Jessen Drive, had belonged to a local doctor who had intended to build a large home there, but his project did not gain the necessary approvals. Twenty Years Ago Preparations were underway for La Cañada High School's all-school production of Thornton Wilder's "Our Town," which would be presented in the school's auditorium over three nights in May 1993.

Three dozen local Girl Scouts have earned the prestigious Gold Award, which will be presented to them at 4 p.m. on May 21 during ceremonies at Lanterman Auditorium. They include: Caitlin Adams For Caitlin’s Gold Award project she refurbished the LCHS Football Food Booth. During the football season, she witnessed the condition of the booth during the time that PTSA parents volunteer and fundraise. When her troop began to talk about possible Gold Awards she knew she wanted to do something for the school she had attended since seventh grade.
