Because the La Cañada High School Backwards Dance has not been off-campus in over a decade, Backwards is going to be an exceptional and unique dance. The ?girl-ask-guy? Backwards dance will be at the Atrium, which is in the Wallis Annenberg Building at the California Science Center near USC. Backwards is from 7 to 11 p.m. March 22. This Paris-themed dance is titled ?City of Lights.? The theme, location and court were announced on Feb. 21 in the La Cañada High School quad during break.

Flintridge Preparatory School will host its annual Open House on Sunday, Dec. 4 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Prospective students and their families are welcome. At 1:15 and 2:30 P.M., Headmaster Peter Bachmann will deliver welcoming remarks and hold a question-and-answer session in Norris Auditorium. Student musical performances will precede the headmaster's remarks. At an ongoing reception in the adjacent Norris Atrium, prospective students and parents can meet Director of Admissions Art Stetson, Assistant Headmaster Peter Vaughn, Director of Operations Kathleen Herroon, and an array of Prep students, parents, alumni, and trustees.

This month, Flintridge Preparatory School in La Cañada Flintridge extends a hearty holiday "welcome home" to its alumni with a series of reunions and other events. On Friday, Dec. 23, Rebel grads are invited to join current student athletes on the field, on the court, and in the pool for an afternoon of fun on Alumni Sports Day. Games are scheduled at 2:30 p.m. for women's basketball and coed water polo and soccer. A men's basketball game will follow at 4 p.m. The day will end with a post-game reception.

Giving birth to me. Maybe someday those six hours you spent in labor will be all worth it when I find a cure for cancer. Or take you on that African safari you've always dreamed of. Those endless bowls of macaroni that you made me to ensure the happiness of my stomach.
