The fourth season of the Dance at the Music Center series continues with the Music Center debut of Compañía Nacional de Danza 2, under the direction of founder and co-Artistic Director Nacho Duato and co-Artistic Director Tony Fabre, for three performances only, May 18 through May 20 at the Ahmanson Theatre. The company of fourteen, direct from Spain, will perform the Duato classic Remansos; Gnawa, a company U.S. premiere; and Rassemblement, a West Coast premiere. CND2 will also perform in Southern California on May 12 at the Irvine Barclay Theatre and May 15 at Campbell Hall at The University of California, Santa Barbara.

Taking a fresh new look at the traditional holiday favorite, The Nutcracker, Le Studio Dance of Pasadena will present Clara's Dream at Sexson Auditorium of Pasadena City College. Clara's Dream is choreographed by former Bolshoi Theatre choreographer Alexei Badrak, who is now Artistic Director of Le Studio Dance. Badrak was assistant to the Bolshoi Theatre's Chief Ballet Master Yuri Grigorovich from 1987 to 1989. Since his move to the United States in 1993, Badrak founded the International Ballet Theater Institute, serving as producer, director, choreographer, ballet master, coach, instructor, academic and lecturer.

East West Players proudly announces its 41st anniversary during the 2006-2007 Season. Celebrating its 20th Anniversary, Miami City Ballet, led by Founding Artistic Director Edward Villella, will be performing at the Music Center from June 30 to July 2 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Miami City Ballet skillfully blends an international mix of dancers with a distinctive Miami flare, which will be highlighted in their repertory program. Their season repertory will include "Dances at a Gathering" and "Fancy Free," choreography by Jerome Robins. "Western Symphony" and "Stravinsky Violin Concerto" choreography by George Blanching.

Musica Angelica, Los Angeles' premier Baroque orchestra, presents Vivaldi's Four Seasons, possibly the most popular Baroque work ever written, at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug., 6 under the stars at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre. Featured soloist is Musica Angelica's Concertmaster/Resident Artistic Director Elizabeth Blumenstock, who leads the ensemble in Vivaldi's masterpiece and Corelli's Concerto Grosso, Op. 6., No. 1, 2 and 4, filled with beautiful melodies and harmonies. Aside from being a leading Baroque composer, Corelli was considered one of Vivaldi's greatest influences.

The internationally acclaimed tango company Estampas Porteñas, led by Artistic Director Carolina Soler, will perform Tango Fire , one afternoon only at the Wilshire Theatre in Beverly Hills on Sunday, Oct. 8. Estampas Porteñas is being seen in the United States for the first time on this tour. Direct from Buenos Aires, Tango Fire features ten of Argentina's finest dancers, Quatrotango, a live quartet of brilliant musicians, along with Diego Fama, Tango Fire's powerful vocalist.

A Noise Within, Southern California's award-winning classical theatre company, continues its 15th anniversary season with the soaring musical, "Man Of La Mancha," written by Dale Wasserman, music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion. The production opens on Saturday March 10 at 8 p.m. and runs through May 27. Directed by Julia Rodriguez-Elliott, "Man of La Mancha" tells the story of the epic novel Don Quixote as a play within a play, performed by Miguel de Cervantes and his fellow prisoners as they await trial by the Spanish Inquisition.
