Celebrate healthy aging and make a commitment to be 'Fit for Life' at the Pasadena Senior Center and the AAF Rose Bowl Aquatics Center . Fit for Life is a free program to promote healthful activities and challenge adults, age 50 and older, to try something new to improve health. It will be held at the AAF Rose Bowl Aquatics Center in Brookside Park, 360 N. Arroyo Blvd. in Pasadena. It will take place from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on three consecutive Mondays, May 7, 14 and 21; guests may attend one or all three days.

In 2000, La Cañada Flintridge had a total population of 20,318 people of which 14.0% were age 65 or older, a proportion slightly greater than the national average. Furthermore, estimates predict that the aging population will continue to increase. Current statistics verify that over the last eight years, the number of La Cañada residents age 65 or older has increased from 2,845 to 3,098. With the La Cañada community growing older, are there services available to meet the changing needs of seniors?

CLASSES & SEMINARS   Get EntWined — Saturdays 5-6 p.m . Vertical Wine Bistro’s “Get EntWined” wine classes are offered every Saturday. These tastings feature three wines selected by David Haskell, paired with three small bites from Executive Chef Doug Weston’s California bistro menu. Pairing selections will change weekly. The Wild, Wild West I walked into Suzie Johnson's house last Saturday morning, sent by Kaitzer to pick up decorations that Suzie's husband, Jack, had made for the Juniors' "Wild Wild West" event . The La Cañada Junior Wo-men's Club was coming together for its annual fundraiser to be held that night at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center. Thinking that this would be a routine mission, I wanted to get in, get out, and get on with my day. I had no idea what I would find. The best discoveries evolve subtly; you just stumble upon them.
