Paramedics extracted an injured woman from her car after she was involved in a two-car accident on Foothill Boulevard in La Ca ñ ada Flintridge around 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The woman's Honda Fit collided with an SUV in front of her just east of the intersection of Foothill and Angeles Crest Highway. Los Angeles County firefighters from Station 82 maneuvered the woman onto a stretcher and extracted her from the driver's side of the door before placing her in an ambulance. Eastbound traffic on Foothill was snarled by the accident.

A man survived a car accident Friday night that dropped his black Porsche about 200 feet down the side of the Angeles Crest Highway, officials said. Authorities received a call around 5:20 p.m. on September 7 from a witness who reported seeing the car on the side of the highway near mile marker 27 in La Cañada Flintridge, said California Highway Patrol Officer Monica Posada. When officials arrived on scene, they found the car empty and began searching for the driver, she said.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies and search and rescue teams are looking for an occupant after a vehicle was found on the side of the Angeles Crest Highway. The sheriff's department received a call at around 5:30 p.m. on Friday to report the vehicle, said Sgt. Robert Galbraith of the  Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Department.  The car was found empty and authorities are currently looking for the driver. A solo motorcycle accident shut down both lanes of Angeles Crest Highway for about 30 minutes Sunday morning, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The accident was reported shortly after 10:30 a.m. near mile marker 37, according to Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Sgt. Cynthia Gonzales.  Both lanes were closed so emergency officials could tend to the motorcyclist, who was airlifted to Huntington Memorial Hospital. -- Joshua Cox , Times Community News

A motorcyclist died Sunday after crashing into a guard rail near mile marker 69 on Angeles Crest Highway, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Gil Hernandez. Richard Shumway, 71, of Yorba Linda, was riding his 1978 Yamaha on Angeles Crest near Wrightwood at approximately 12:07 p.m. when he drifted into the shoulder of the road, lost control of his bike and crashed into a guard rail, according to Hernandez. Paramedics were dispatched via helicopter, but Shumway was declared dead at the scene of the crash.

The body found on Angeles Crest Highway Thursday morning has been identified as 35-year-old Noe Vasquez, a Los Angeles County coroner's official said today. Coroners officials have not yet completed an autopsy on Vasquez to determine his cause of death, although authorities on Thursday said he may have died of a gunshot wound. Larry Dietz, a spokesman for the cororner's office, said officials have not yet determined Vasquez' city of residence. Vasquez' body was discovered near the Mile 27 marker on Angeles Crest Highway above La Cañada Flintridge early Thursday morning, prompting authorities to close the road in both directions.

A man found dead early Thursday morning along Angeles Crest Highway just above La Cañada Flintridge suffered a possible gunshot wound, said Los Angeles County Coroner spokesman Craig Harvey. Two motorcyclists suffered serious injuries after driving off the side of Angeles Crest Highway on Sunday. At 10:52 a.m. volunteers with Montrose Search and Rescue helped a motorcyclist who had driven over the side of the road at Angeles Crest near Upper Big Tujunga Road, at mile marker 42. At 12:32 p.m. crews rescued another motorcyclist who went over the side of the road in the same area, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department....
