La Cañada Flintridge Olympian Kate Hansen is one of 12 athletes who will be lauded at a celebratory parade on Sunday for returning stars of the recently-concluded Sochi Winter Games.

The parade will take place in Lake Placid, NY, at 3 p.m. (PDT) down the city’s main street and will conclude at The Cottage Café.

Speeches will be made by four medal winners and elected officials that will be followed by a lighting of the Lake Placid cauldron and a concluding fireworks show.

The four Olympians scheduled to speak are Andrew Weibrecht (silver medal in alpine skiing), Hansen’s teammate Erin Hamlin, the first-ever medalist (bronze) in the luge, Steve Holcomb (two bronzes in bobsled) and Steve Langton (two bronze in bobsled).

Hansen finished 10th in the women’s individual luge in her debut at the Winter Games.
