La Cañada Flintridge residents Janet Hotchkin-Tinoco and Anthony Portantino have been appointed to Hathaway-Sycamores Child and Family Services' Governing and Advisory boards, respectively.

A retired special education teacher who served with both the Covina-Valley and the La Cañada unified school districts, Hotchkin-Tinoco has long been an active volunteer. Her other affiliations include La Cañada Girl Scouts, National Charity League of Glendale, Pasadena Jaycee Women, and Pasadena Tournament of Roses.

A former mayor of La Cañada Flintridge and Democratic member of the state Assembly, Portantino currently serves on the California Film Commission, and is a visiting fellow at USC's Jesse M. Unruh Institute of Politics. He also is a member of The Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy, the La Cañada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce, and the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy Advisory Committee.

"Both Janet and Anthony have long histories of community service, and we are indeed fortunate to now have two such compassionate and skilled individuals as part of our organization," stated William Martone, president and chief executive of Hathaway-Sycamores.
