A man and woman, both in their 20s, were transported to a local hospital after the vehicle they were traveling in plummeted about 400 feet over the side of the Angeles Crest Highway early Sunday morning.
Montrose Search and Rescue members and Los Angeles County firefighters lifted the pair out of the hillside on special stretchers called litters that are designed for hazardous situations at around 1 a.m. near mile marker 39.61 on the highway, about 14 miles from La Cañada Flintridge, according to authorities.
They were both transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, said California Highway Patrol Officer Tom Miller. Their conditions are currently unknown.
