All proceeds, organizers said, would be donated to the library for essentials that had been threatened by county budget cuts.

A stand of 22 eucalyptus trees that lined Verdugo Boulevard across from Church of the Lighted Window, estimated to be a century old, was felled by a contractor grading the property for an 11-home development.
The city manager said the planning commission approved the development with the assumption the trees would be saved.
