Miller moves up to No. 2 in CIF Southern Section

Pasadena Poly 74, Rio Hondo Prep 20: Michelle Miller shifted into the No. 2 spot on the CIF Southern Section all-time scoring list in Poly's victory Saturday. Miller scored 31 points and added 10 rebounds in the win as the Panthers improved to 16-4, 7-0 in Prep League.

Miller now has scored 3,097 points in her high school career, putting her in front of the previous No. 2 scoring leader for the CIF Southern Section, Giuliana Mendiola. 


Courtney Foster also had 16 points and five assists and Kiki Yang added 12 points and seven steals for Poly.

La Cañada 67, Blair 32: Lauren Barsamian recorded a double-double with 13 points and a team-high 20 rebounds at home in a Rio Hondo League win over Blair Friday. Courtney Chen scored a team-high 22 points and Sydney Zarate had 14 points for La Cañada (12-10, 4-2 in league).

The Vikings fell to 0-16, 0-6.

Muir 86, Hoover 19: Shaela Flynn hit three three-pointers in pacing the Mustangs with 23 points and five steals in a Pacific League home win Friday afternoon.

Emoni Jackson had a monster game, finishing with 21 points and 20 rebounds for Muir (21-3, 10-0).

Mayfield 61, Rio Hondo Prep 43: Senior center Rafaela Bradvica scored a team-high 18 points and Juliana Zovak added 11 points for the Cubs (11-5, 4-3) in a Prep League road victory Friday afternoon.

Temple City 43, San Marino 32: Junior Leigh Kunitake led the Titans (10-9, 3-3) with 11 points in a Rio Hondo League home defeat Friday afternoon.

St. Monica 57, La Salle 56: Despite a season-high 20 points and eight rebounds from freshman forward Sierra Bononi, the Lancers fell in a Camino Real League home defeat Thursday night as the Mariners hit two free throws with five seconds to win.

Kandyce Smith added 12 points, six assists and three steals for the Lancers (14-7, 3-2), who were swept by Santa Monica St. Monica.

Garden Grove Pacifica 55, Pasadena AGBU 35: The Spartans simply ran out of gas in their third contest in as many nights, falling on the road in nonleague play Thursday evening.

Junior guard Nanor Babian led AGBU (11-4) with 25 points, seven rebounds and five blocks as the Spartans carried a roster of only six girls.


Pasadena 56, Burroughs 34: Sophomore guard Ajon Efferon (13 points and four steals) was one of three Bulldogs to score in double figures as Pasadena picked up a Pacific League home win Friday evening.
