For years, there have been conspicuous issues at the high school that never seem to get handled. These concerns have been brought to the board's attention repeatedly, yet they have not been resolved. In fact, some current board members simply don't see any problems.
So we need to ask ourselves, “Is this as good as it gets?” Or do we aim higher and start addressing these concerns so that LCHS can be even better?
In order to take that step, we need someone on the board who agrees there is room for improvement and who has the background to implement those changes. I believe that someone is Andrew Blumenfeld. Here is a candidate who has recently gone through the La Cañada school system and personally knows of what we speak. His field of study is up-to-date education reform at one of the most prestigious colleges in the country. He has done his homework on the issues, has boundless energy, is well-spoken and is passionate about his alma mater. And he wants to come back and do something about it. He could be turning his energy to any number of other opportunities, but he wants to give back to the system where he got his education. Because he knows it can get better. And he knows how to go about doing it. For these reasons, I will be voting for Andrew Blumenfeld and I encourage you to do the same.
