3000 block of Community Avenue: The front door knob, a second story window screen and kitchen window of a house were damaged in an attempted burglary between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 3. The would-be burglars were unable to gain entry to the home, which had its entrances locked while the owner was gone. The total value of the damage was estimated at $425.
2800 block of Henrietta Avenue: A diamond necklace and a digital SLR camera, valued at $700 and $1000 respectively, were stolen from a home sometime between Friday, Sept. 16 and Sunday, Sept. 18. The victim did not report the theft till Oct. 4, but remembered coming home during the aforementioned period to find her kitchen sliding door wide open. The door was normally left open a small amount to allow the victim’s dog to enter and leave the home.
