Sellabration takes place in Glendale Saturday

September 28, 2011

dThe annual Sellabration, a giant community rummage sale presented by the Glendale chapter of the National Charity League Inc., featuring bargain-priced gently used as well as new items donated by more than 140 local families and businesses, is set for Saturday, Oct.1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pacific Park Community Center, 501 S. Pacific Ave. in Glendale.

La Cañada residents Karen Gee-McAuley and Tracie Heileson and La Crescenta residents Christine Holmquist and Lynn Drewe are the four co-chairs for Sellabration. “High-quality goods at rock-bottom prices” is the theme. Organizers draw on more than 300 members of the local mother-daughter organization to staff the event.

Net proceeds from Sellabration provide financial assistance to seniors living at 12 Oaks Retirement Lodge in La Crescenta and fund special projects for NCL Glendale’s other philanthropies.

On the same premises Saturday morning there will be a pancake breakfast presented by St. Mark’s Church to benefit Ascencia (formerly Path Achieve Glendale) and Burbank Kiwanis for Fun Charities so Sellabration customers can enjoy breakfast before they shop. For breakfast tickets, call (818) 521-7355.

Last year, NCL Glendale assisted the La Cañada, La Crescenta, Glendale and Burbank areas with more than 10,707 hours of service and $47,000 to special projects for their charities.
