Area 1: 3000 Block of Stevens Street:. While checking on his stepmother’s home while she was out of town Monday, Aug.15, a resident noticed that the side door had been forced open. The house had been ransacked, but as the owners were out of town, deputies were unable to determine what was stolen.
4500 Block of Briggs Avenue: Pasadena resident Julio Ortiz was arrested at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, for driving on a suspended license. Deputies traveling on Foothill Boulevard ran the license plate of Ortiz’s red GMC Yukon and found an outstanding arrest warrant for the address where the vehicle was registered.
2900 Gertrude Avenue: On Thursday, Aug. 11, an unlocked residence was entered between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and a jewelry box was stolen from the master bedroom, but nothing else was taken. The jewelry stolen included a pair of gold jade earrings, a gold jade necklace and ring, a platinum watch with diamonds and gold broach with diamonds, all 85 years old, though their value was not released.
